St. Andrews District Community Centre opened its doors in September 1994. The new 7,800 square foot centre is a multi-purpose building that is used for weddings, funeral teas, dances, concerts, meetings and fundraising events for a variety of community organizations.

Five years after the building opened, a mortgage-burning party was held to celebrate the fact that the Community Centre was debt-free. A cornerstone was engraved with the words“Community Spirit”.
